Funny, the protests in France are over job security. Something that for me, is such a strange concept.
As a New York waiter I can't even begin to fathom the concept is being employed longer then eight months. French youth are fighting over the right of a young person to be terminated without cause (among other things). Sigh. I agree with them. Someone shouldn't be fired without cause. It's actually a mind boggling concept. At will termination. On a whim for any reason. It's strange that the protests in L.A. are also about Labor, our need to support ourselves. The right for a better and more stable life.
Yes there are other things at stake and other thoughts. The main concept, so simple, is our right for a better life. Some are better at fighting for it then others.
