I go there every once in a while, the Townhouse. A friend
who I adore dearly drags me there, I only go with him. He goes for the elderly
gentlemen; I go for the young ones that hang on. On most nights it’s quite good;
last night though I actually watched the show, the parade of people blatantly
trying to hook up.
I started making comparisons with this bastion of men and
their counterparts in hipper – cooler bars. The lighting: the lights are quite
bright; here I believe these men do not mind showing their gray and wrinkled
brow. Unlike XL where Botox injections can be had in the basement. Here the men
mostly wear sports coats and ties, yes ties in a bar, they look distinguished. There’s
even a dress code posted on the front door, yet I notice, this code does not
apply to the younger men (18 year olds). In this place – men approach me. The
men in this gin joint hit on me, directly, and simply tell me “you’re cute.” As
they reach for my crotch. In other bars, especially those in the
I’m at the bar checking out a cute young man in a suit, a
nice boyish face, so yummy. We start to talk and I notice, he’s really really
drunk, Drunk enough to blurt out. “I’m buying his company.” A statement I find
intriguing, upon further investigation, it’s made far more interesting by the
shear fact 1)the guy he mentioned does not have a company 2) the cute boy
really has no clue what “mergers and acquisitions”, those two words put
together, really mean.
I go home a bit buzzed and a bit disappointed that the guy I was checking out was quite stupid, this always seems to be the case, if I’m attracted to him, they inevitable turn out dumb.
Yet at the end of the evening, somewhere deep down, I’m glad to know that when I’m fifty, just in case I’m still single at that time (at the rate I’m going that’s a true possibility) there will be a place like the Townhouse, where I will be able to find cute young strapping boys.
i went there once and a bunch of guys talked to me like i was young hooker haha. it was so demoralizing! ok, i'm lying. i liked the attention haha. free drinks! jk
