I love it. Simply said the casting is brilliant and the
documentary feel makes it enjoyable. Nothing like Real World, Americans Top
Model, or gasp – Manhunt, but
more like the Apprentice; these
contestants have serious talent. I’m a self confessed Apprentice addict. I find myself watching other reality shows; only
when drunk, or simply to reinforce my belief that there are stupider people in
the world then I.
The documentary feel comes from executive producers Dan Cutforth and Jane Lipsitz of Project Greenlight. Stunning Heidi Klum is hosting. Unlike other reality shows where I expect mud pies to be thrown and hair pulled. When I watch Project Runway I’m glad to find that creating a dress can be compelling. To somehow get a glimpse of this creative process is quite fun. I previously dated a fashion designer (I twinged a bit when I saw him in the first episode); I had no clue as to what it took. Kudos to him for making it; for having the instinct, which will so clearly separate the winner in this show (reflection’s a bitch).
I silently find myself rooting for
You can also purchase the designers dresses at online
auction. At the time of this post
I know I’m coming in a bit late with my “discovery” of this show, yet I make a point not to watch reality shows. So my enthusiasm should truly be noted.
I’m looking forward to watching the show unfold, it starts up again, Wednesday January 5th 9/8c on Bravo. Also tomorrow, a post comparing Blogs to a reality show, truly they are.

I totally agree with you. This show is addictive and truly entertaining. And Klum is much more exciting to look at than Trump.

Luv. Luv. Luv this show. I missed last. Thought I could wait to find out who was let go. I couldn't wait. Went on line and voila. Just as I suspected. It was her time to go. Not quite up to par with Austin , Kara , Robert, Wendy or Jay. I started watching after America's next top model went off. That was teh first reality how I evre watched. Now I am hooked on Runway. It's VERY well done. Produciton values are fantastic. Ifeel like I am watching quality... Almost a PBS type program. Almost.

My husband and I both love Project Runway so thanks for the review and the links to the online auction of the designs. It's good to hear that Austin's gorgeous floral dress is a hit. The Elle editor who questioned "whether women in America would wear that frou frou stuff" - while no disrespect to Elle - might want to acknowledge that floral isn't all bad. Not that I'm hanging floral as window treatments. But the dress was beautiful. ok no more rambling. Just wanted to say thanks!

I'm all about Kara. She never fails to deliver! Her wedding dress was spot on! That Wendy girl gets on my nerves but she's occasionally good. Austin is awesome and the one guy who reminds me of Todd Oldham is good, too. but...i'm all about Kara.

im addicted to this show way too much. I think my favorite is Jay...he seems the nicest and most sensible of the bunch. Its hard not to like Austin; he has so much talent.

oh, that wendy does boil my blood. my favorite designer would have to be kara saun although i must say the other 2 are rather talented. i do miss morgan, the bubbly model. she brought more drama and... spunk to the show.

they got rid of Morgan!!! *overdramatic scream* noooooo! she was so awesome! she was ilke a mini-white store brand Naomi Campbell with all that drama! she was such a loose cannon! the things she'd say were just hilarious! she did have a good walk, too. they had this one model awhile back on the show and they were doing a wedding dress episode or something and the model brought in her fiance to see the dress (i have no idea why) and her fiance was friggin' so 'effin' hot! haha and then the next round that model got booted and i was like "what!? she might've brought her fiance back! don't boot her off!" lol

I read that Kara did the best today in the tents at Fashion Week. http://www.fashiontribes.typepad.com/ has live podcasts everyday of Fashion Week. They ripped Austin - but like his stuff the best.

This show IS addicting. I live for Wednesdays. I can't say I really dislike any of the designers but the models, now that's a different story. I'm glad Morgan is gone. She acted like an immature coked up freak and Olga is a petulant, whiny horses ass. I hope Olga doesn't make it. Send that Eastern Euro trash beeotch back to Russia to be a peasant working on a potato farm!

Your such a bitch Belle,....why don't you go back to wherever your damn ancestors are from? I'd rather be Euro trash than your honky-white-trash-ass. Trust me, she was not a peasant farmer....but you're a bitch

I watch the show for one reason, Austin. I sure wouldn't mind designing a few things for him.

yo belle dont be hating on my girl olga. her along with morgan melissa audrey and martinique r the hotest model. im sure u just hating. if u can watch episode two and take a look at her in the runway im sure she meant that to u. to all p r fans this show was mad goo. i had hoped morgan made it instead of jenny in fashion week though. the show was good and i was hoping for wendy to win. i mean her music and collection was so beatiful.anywayz the show was good better than top model. i think the problem with top model was that they just pick up any girls. thhey should pick girls from agencies so they could b know. cause seriously ,isn't there enough models in the agengies?

I Loved the show I watched the whole marathon and it was dramaful but it was great!!!I think that all the models walk good but some of their personalities are a little kooky, like morgan. But she was a hell of a walker.I liked all the models until they had to make their wedding dresses.I think the girls were really stupid, some of them weren't but, I hated how they were like acting as if they were really getting married.Thats when I kind of disliked Melissa, because she made Nora go because she was caught up in her nasty frilly shit that she supposedly thought of since she was young. And Olga with the godamn whining about the diamonds and it being itchy.Thats when I really stopped likeing the models. And I think it was really fucked up what morgn did to micheals bathing suit. But, that's just my personal opinion.
